The Summer Photo Spot in Plovdiv

During the Easter holidays, one of Plovdiv’s biggest attractions was transformed into a vibrant artistic composition.
The unique artistic design was created by Ivan Plamenov Velichkov – an artist with over 20 years of experience in the field. His works can be found in the Netherlands, North Macedonia, England, Austria, and other countries. He is also the author of the depiction of the Panagyurishte Treasure, painted in 2012 in the underpass on “Gladstone” Street.

A few months later, the composition was removed and, in tune with the summer season, it was replaced by another stunning 3D image – this time featuring sunflowers, lavender, and a breathtaking sunset. Sunflowers are often called “the flowers of the sun” because they always follow and face it. They are believed to symbolize longevity and stability, and with their bright color, they always bring joy and positivity. Lavender, on the other hand, is most commonly associated with purity, tranquility, devotion, and luck.
The creator, once again, is Ivan Velichkov, who worked on this piece for four whole nights, using over a million spray strokes and taking more than 60 000 steps. It is painted on a special nano-coating to prevent damage to the stairs. The graffiti will remain until the end of summer, after which it will likely be removed by the Municipality.

And for the best selfie, the artist suggests standing right in front of the “Together!” sign!
